CASS RP
Your Client Assets Resolution Pack: When Seconds Matter, Be Ready
The Client Assets Resolution Pack (CASS RP) is your firm’s regulatory “black box” — a critical collection of information that enables administrators to identify and return client money and assets promptly and efficiently in the event of a firm failure.
Under CASS 10, FCA-regulated firms holding client money or custody assets must maintain, review, and be able to deliver a complete and up-to-date CASS RP to the FCA and insolvency practitioners within 48 hours of request.
At CMAC, we provide practical guidance, tools, and templates to help you meet this obligation with confidence and clarity — not just for compliance, but for client protection.
📘 What Is the CASS RP?
The CASS Resolution Pack is a structured collection of documents, records, and data that provides:
-
A clear trail of where client money and assets are held
-
Details of the firm’s internal CASS controls and systems
-
Information that enables a rapid return of client property
💡 Key Requirement: The pack must be readily retrievable, regularly reviewed, and reflect the current state of operations and accounts.

🚨 What Happens If Your RP Fails in Practice?
Firms that fail to maintain or retrieve their CASS RP on request may face:
-
Enforcement action
-
Operational disruption
-
Delayed or failed return of client property
-
Damage to reputation and client relationships
🔍 Real-world enforcement examples show that CASS RP failings are often process-based, not malicious — but the regulatory consequences are real.
